It is holiday time! And with that comes the stress. We all can get caught up taking care of everyone else, eating food that we don’t really want to eat, skipping workouts, and meditation – what is that? Basically, sabotaging all the hard work and improvements we made throughout the year. 

In my group classes, we work on weekly affirmations as one tool of self-care. An affirmation is something we tell ourselves daily, journal about and truly embrace as part of our thinking to keep ourselves a priority and our mindset in a positive place. 

“I choose to feel calm and relaxed now.” Is a reminder that you have a choice how you react to circumstances that arise around travel, family and having kids out of school. Many stresses are out of our control, but our reaction to them is in our control. 

What will be your affirmation going into Thanksgiving week? 

Choose calm.
