Exercising and Eating Well and STILL Gaining Weight?!
I’ve Got a Program for That!
Starts October 10!
I’ve spent the past two months at four 29029 Everesting events. This is an ultra endurance event in which participants hike up a ski mountain and take the gondola down as many times as it takes to reach 29029 feet of accumulated elevation, the elevation of Mt. Everest. Participants spend four to six months training for this event. More than 50% of the participants are women. The average age ranges from 44-47 years old across the events. The same conversation comes up over and over again as I hike along side the female participants.
I have been training for months and I still gained weight, why?
I did all the training and I’m still feeling tired and weak, why?
I missed many of my training days because I was too tired to get through the sessions.
My mood is bouncing between bouts of anxiety and depression which I’ve never had before.
I feel a shortness of breath and my legs feel heavy.
I am hungry all the time but afraid to increase calories because I don’t want to gain weight.
I used to have muscle tone and now I feel flabby.
I have gained weight around my middle, just seemed to wake up with it one day.
The answer is perimenopause. Our bodies are changing, hormones are shifting and we need to CHANGE what we are doing! The decline in hormones requires us to give the body another way to get the same results we have in the past.
This is why I created my next group program, Embrace the Change.
I want to bring this conversation to the front, gather together like minded women to share their experience and ideas of how to move through this next stage of life. It isn’t going anywhere. Once a women transitions to living post menopause, nutrition and lifestyle habits must adapt in order to starve off unwanted side affects and to feel good mentally, physically and emotionally!
