Chelsea’s Healing Journey

Understanding the power Nutrition + Focused Core Work can have on optimizing health and performance in sport and life.

Chelsea is a mom, working professional and endurance athlete. She came to me to optimize her nutrition and energy before and during training, as many athletes do. Much to her surprise, we not only optimized her training fuel but healed several other challenges she was having including:

  • Allergies which included mysterious hives and nasal congestion

  • Feeling bloated after meals

  • Gut and digestive issues (loose stools)

  • Fatigue throughout the day and intense hunger during workouts

  • The feeling that her pelvic floor was "off" after her last pregnancy. In particular, she often felt pressure after sitting for long periods of time or when standing in one place for a long time

I asked Chelsea more details about her healing journey. The powerful combination we built of nutrition and foundational exercise gave her the tools to feel and perform her best. After working together she completed a 100 mile run injury free and also got pregnant with her second child! Here are the details in Chelsea's words...

"I signed up for Emilee's nutrition services when I began endurance training because I could tell my body wasn't in perfect shape and I wanted to optimize my energy before after and during training.

Working with Emilee on my nutrition was a TOTAL game changer. 

Thanks to her help, I learned what was missing from my diet, foods that didn't sit well in my gut and a ton of easy-to-make healthy recipes that fueled my lifestyle. I noticed huge changes in my energy within the first few weeks ... Within a month, I noticed that my gut was consistently no longer bloated. ... Most surprising and relieving to me was that within the first month, my hives were less and less and within two months they went away entirely and haven't come back!

The knowledge and suggestions that Emilee provided were easy to implement and also easy to maintain long term.

I equally appreciated Emilee's pelvic floor class. Not only are the workouts really meditative and simultaneously challenging, but they're super effective. Within a few weeks of taking the class I started noticing that my pelvic pressure was fading. I kept up with the workouts over the course of the next few months after finishing Emilee's program and the pelvic pressure subsided almost completely. I went into the class knowing almost nothing about the pelvic floor and now it's something I share with all of my friends encouraging everyone to pay closer attention to that part of our body because it really does make a big difference, especially for postpartum women.

I can't stress how much I've learned from Emilee. From knowing what blood tests to ask for at the doctor, what my daily protein intake should look like, what the pelvic floor is/what is does and beyond!

It's all knowledge that empowers people to take control of and optimize their health.

I'm so grateful to have been able to work with Emilee over the last few years... I also think it's no coincidence that I got pregnant weeks after taking one of her nutrition programs."
